We're so stoked on Captain Planet's "Cookin' Gumbo" album, and we've been getting such an amazing response from listeners, fans and DJs from all four corners of the globe we've decided to do something we've never done before....a remix contest!
So to that end, we're offering up the stems to the tough Bossa-Nova infected soul joint "Get You Some" (featuring the brilliant voice of LA's Brit Lauren) up for all you potential superstars to put your own spin on it, with a chance for your track to be released on an upcoming "Captain Planet Remixed" EP dropping on Bastard Jazz in early 2012.

The submission phase of the remix competition starts Oct 27th 2011 and ends at Midnight November 27th 2011.
Submit your remix to the Bastard Jazz dropbox on this page. All entries must include "Captain Planet remix competition" in the title, along with a contact email address.
Tracks using un-cleared samples from sources outside of these remix parts will be disqualified. (It's ok to use your own original/recorded sounds and samples or any material from licensed sample packs)
All winners will be selected after the closing date at the discretion of Bastard Jazz, whose decision is final. The winners will be announced online and notified by email within 28 days.
All parts made available to download, and all parts downloaded remain the property of Bastard Jazz Recordings. All remixes completed, whether submitted in this competition or not, remain the property of Bastard Jazz Recordings. By entering this Contest, Entrants assign away and transfer (as set forth below) any and all rights in the Remixes on a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable and royalty-free basis, for any and all purposes including, but not limited to, display, public performance, posting for streaming and/or download, making of derivative works, reproduction, distribution, and all other means of exploitation of the Remixes. This contest is subject to all local, state and Federal laws and is void where ever prohibited by law. By entering into the Contest you agree that all disputes will be settled by arbitration in King's County New York.
