Robohands is the experimental solo/collaborative project of London based composer/ instrumentalist Andy Baxter. Originally a side project to explore drumming techniques, ‘Robohands’ evolved into a more composition based endeavour with his records often featuring large arrangements and also solo instrument performances. Having recorded four studio albums to date, ‘Palms’ (2023, Bastard Jazz Recordings) is the fifth in a series of seven Robohands LPs. Having supported Grammy Award winning musician Terrence Blanchard at the Camden Jazz Cafe, his project has also headlined multiple venues in London, Brighton and Lisbon. Sonically making reference to late 1950s sounds through to late 1980s and early 1990s sounds, each album has differed in direction, with the latest album emulating saturated analog tape recordings of the late 60s and 70s, with an added subtle modern layer of glitch FX and pitch control experimentation in places.
Jack Barone is an LA based composer, producer, musician, and writer. Jack began his musical journey as the lead guitarist of the four piece band “STiVER DiVER,” where he played all across Los Angeles at venues such as The Viper Room, The Mint, The Trip, and Good Times at Davey Wayne’s. The band also sold out Rockwood Music Hall in New York City, and Beaumont’s in San Diego. While playing, writing, and producing for the band, he shadowed Film/TV composer Jason Hill at the Department of Recording Power during the creation of scores for Love Death + Robots, Couples Therapy, City on Fire, and others. Following this, Jack worked as day-to-day for Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am. In 2024, Jack began working independently out of his “sidewalk studios.” Since making the transition, he has worked with fashion brands such as Naaliyah studios, where he created the capsule collection EP “kinetic ss25,” as well as with independent filmmakers, scoring short films and commercials. He also works as a producer, composer, and writer for various artists around the world.
Jack Barone and Robohands’ debut collaborative EP ‘R.F.I.’ is set to release this year.
