
Chilling Effect thematically explores the rigidity of group dynamics, the self interested manner in which in-group rules are often enforced and the difficulty of breaking out of corrupted systems that don’t serve anyone. Featuring clavinet by Francis Arseneau and flute by Paulo Oliveira, sonically, the song draws instrumental inspiration from late 70s deep soul acts like Otis Clay and Dee Edwards. Vocally – tight melodies layered with harmony pull from psychedelic pop acts of the late 60s.
