Paying homage to Brazilian funk & boogie, Captain Planet’s “O Xangô” reimagines a samba rock classic from Trio Mocotó, famed for backing Jorge Ben. Stripping away most of the original, he injects heavy bass, disco drums, stabs, and wild synths, creating a euphoric modern boogie banger. The lyrics call to Yoruba deities, with the chorus invoking Xangô—symbol of power, justice, thunder, and lightning.
