Brooklyn’s Bastard Jazz once again partners up with the Jahtari netlabel for another delectable digital dub seven inch, this time from Normaa – also known as Eduardo & Raúl Acosta, two brothers who hail from the Asturias region of Northern Spain.
Things kick off on the A side with “International Calling” a tough dubtempo rocker with a rugged drum break, nasty synth bass, interlaced rhythms, and timestretched FX and dubbed out glitches galore! Over to the B side, “Give Thanks To Be Part” is a hypnotic and soulful excursion into the outer reaches of Dub music creating unmistakeable depth through it’s droning vocal chants, twitching drum pattern, ancient horns and understated melancholy synth work.
