SINGLE: Electric Wire Hustle feat. Kimbra + Remix by Rodi Kirk & Aron Ottignon – “Brother Sun”

New Zealand psychedelic-soul duo Electric Wire Hustle are back with a brand new EP following up last year’s critically-acclaimed album Love Can Prevail. “Brother Sun” features fellow Kiwi and Grammy Award winning chanteuse Kimbra. This track reflects the groups love for hip-hop while bringing the genre into the present day.

The single release of “Brother Sun” features a version of the track by Rodi Kirk and Aron Ottignon. These two European-based NZ artists have been working together over the past year creating a unique and compelling fusion of Aron’s virtuosic jazz piano with avant-garde electronic music and sound design.

For their version of ‘Brother Sun’, the two have taken a live band approach featuring steel pan from Londoner Samuel Dubois and bass from former Jamiroquai member Nick Fyfe. The resulting sound is a bouncy piano-driven dancefloor jam which references 70’s disco and jazz, along with Rodi’s modern production elements

“Brother Sun” is the first single from the forthcoming Electric Wire Hustle Aeons EP, due out August 28th on Bastard Jazz and Loop (AUS/NZ). A brand new album will follow in early 2016.
